Our beloved scissor-truss church building burned to the ground in the small hours of Saturday, 18 April, 2009. The building and all its contents were lost.
Our church was not.
We thank the police, the fire brigade who saved our hall, and all who have come to our aid in prayer, in practical ways, and just being there.
And we are there too. And so is our God. Services went ahead in the hall on the following Sunday, the evening service by hurricane lantern as power was not yet restored.
We are numb. We have lost records, memorials, photos of past ministers, and many other things precious to us.
But we have not lost our history, or our future.
Again, thank you all for your prayers.
